Nearing the end ....

This ole project is coming to an end.  This will be my last post on it's progress until it's finished. So here are some of the stitches I've done this past weekend ....

So, I started with this vine.  I new I wanted some flowers on it but really didn't want to do roses again so I made up a flower by stitching a bullion stitch then a ribbon petal on each side.

I felt I needed to add a little bit of the color rust so I made some French knots around the bottom and I think it helps to anchor the  whole vine.  What do you think?  Love to have some feedback.

Found this pretty green/brown butterfly in my lace stash and thought it fit nicely in this bottom left corner.

I'm presently working in the top right corner, beaded the scalloped edging and a few scattered silk flowers with a bead in the center.  I am thinking of  chain stitching the leaves in a medium brown to make this corner pop.

So here we go with the buttons again, they aren't stitched down yet.  I have done several arrangements and take pictures to see how they look.  So we will see in the end which one works the best.

And this is the overall look ... a bit blurry but you get the idea.

Hopefully, it will be finished by the end of April and I am already planning my next project.

Coming up in May is a Crazy Quilted Boho Bag

Just close your eyes and imagine this ..............

My New Storage Cupboards

My dear friend Mary is getting a new refit to her kitchen and had these two wonderful cupboards to sell.  So if you can image one might be just perfect for storing my crazy quilt goodies and the other will be for my finished quilts and throw pillows.
Hugs..Mary!!

A little bit of this .... a little bit of that!

I had a fabulous weekend ... and all because I did a little bit of this and a little bit of that.  Started off Saturday working on my Coffee, Peaches and Cream block ... added some very pretty peach and cream roses to the left side of the block, which you will see in the photos above.  I finally decided what to do with the little round tuft of rabbit fur that I had and using Gerry Krueger's method of stitching on felt to make my bunny and added the tail after ..... turned out delightful!!  I did manage a little bit of housework, a little bit of cooking, a little bit of baking and a little bit of sunning myself on the deck.

Progress on Coffee Peaches and Cream

Here are a few of the seam treatments I have done so far this past few weeks.  I am playing around with a button cluster treatment as well.

Over all look.

Coffee Peaches and Cream

I signed up on a Facebook group page to participate in a CQ block sew along which was assigned as a tonal block called Coffee and Cream.  Basically, different shades and tones of browns and creams.  I really wanted to add my little bird embroidery I did this past winter so I am calling it Coffee Peaches and Cream.  So this is the base block.....and as you can see there is a few peach colored flowers in the embroidery.  I used a black embroidered piece of a collar that I got from a blouse at the thrift store and I think it adds a nice pop of black to frame in the embroidery.  I also layered a piece of black lace on the fabric in the lower left corner and a piece of a sheer embroidered pale peach in the top right corner.  I really like the scalloped edge on this piece and might do some bead work on there later on.
