TIME FLIES ....

Were did July go and why do the summer months always fly by so fast.  Well, I did manage to get my July block done for the Crazy Quilt Journal Project 2018, and I did this by combining a class assignment from the Ribbon Embroidery class I am taking.  So the centre block of ribbon embroidered roses was my inspiration for this block and the rest of it just fell into place.  For this month I also wanted to incorporate some different fabrics and textures, so I included pieces from my thrift store finds.  I hope you enjoy my efforts...thanks for looking :)

BLOCK ONE OF THE ROUND ROBIN - MINE

I wanted to get a feel for the way this set of blocks will be so I stitched up the 6th block.  I added some vintage buttons in the floral spray and also my hand painted pig button, which Gerry Krueger sent to me a few months back and a piece of tatting gifted to me by Ineke de Roos-Middelbosch.  I'll be adding the other 5 photos when they are returned to me by the other members of the Round Robin.

On the sewing table this weekend is.....

Going to spend my sewing time this weekend finishing up some of my ufo projects while I wait to get started on a Round Robin.

While I'm on here I'll just post a couple of Textile postcards to the file.  I made a nice Vintage style one that has been mailed to The Netherlands and a Goofy Bird postcard for a swap heading to England.  So, click on Textile Postcards to view.

Wishing all my following friends a fab weekend...have fun!!

Sew Let the Round Robin Begin .....

Last week I signed up for my first ever Crazy Quilt Block Round Robin.  For those of you who aren't familiar with the term, it's when you make six blank cq blocks and then mail them to 5 other members and have them embellish them in the way that you want done.  You embellish the 6th and 5 of the ones that are mailed to you.  I've been following this process on Crazy Quilt International on FB and love what I see.  Here is a photo of the blank blocks that I made on the weekend and my theme for this is "1930 Vintage On The Farm"
