Boho / Crazy Quilt Bag

I've just spent the tail end of a very relaxing vacation starting my Boho /crazy quilt bag.  It took me a while to get started because I had a few pieces of lace and trim to dye and hadn't gotten it done before I flew to Ontario.  I'm pretty pleased with the way the red turned out ... more of a dark pink, but it looks great with the batik fabrics.

My original plan was to design the flap first but have since changed my  whole design of this bag due to the fact that I love the way the base of the bag was turning out and now want to use it as a flap.  So, perhaps I will be making two  bags.  Here is the pics of the base.
